You won't find yourself in the frustrating situation of having to switch law firms in the middle of your divorce or legal separation so your case can get the proper treatment.
Here's a glimpse of the many ways MOBO Law stands out from the rest:
- A Team Approach: When determining a strategy for marital property division, child custody and visitation schedules, child support, spousal support, and related issues, you'll have multiple perspectives from different attorneys who come together to work toward the best possible outcome in your case. We have both a Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, as well as a certified mediator on staff to help guide you through this difficult time.
- Mediation: In many cases, mediation can provide a confidential and cooperative way to resolve family law matters.
- Caring & Compassionate Lawyers: We are a client-focused, new-school firm with attorneys who are easy to talk with about difficult matters, putting you at ease so we can fully understand your situation and your goals. Our top priority is setting up desirable circumstances so you can move past your divorce and onto a better future.
How is spousal support determined?
Spousal support, or alimony, can be rehabilitative and temporary, or long-term.
In California and Nevada, there is no formula in the law to dictate permanent or long-term spousal support in marriages. Instead, the court looks at various factors including the income of each party and potential earning capacity; standard of living enjoyed during the marriage; assets and debts as a couple and separately as individuals; tax obligations; whether there is a history of domestic violence; the age and health of the parties; and the duration of the marriage.
Should I consider mediation?
Mediation can be an effective way to resolve your divorce, legal separation, or custody proceeding. As neutral mediators, the lawyers at MOBO Law can be the conduit to resolving matters of divorce, legal separation, property division, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, attorney's fees, and related issues in an amicable way. We will guide you through this legal process and assist in the preparation of court forms and documents.
